Emailing defects

The mail feature in Testersuite allows you to send defects by mail. The mail contains the details, attachments (screen shots) and comment lines of the defect.

When you open a defect there is an action button at the top of the screen for emailing defects. Click on this button to open the following screen:

When you click in the Recipient field you can choose from the participants (users or groups) of the Test cycle you are in. You can also manually enter mail addresses of people you want to mail the defect to.

By default the comment lines of defect are included in the email. If you do not want the comment lines to be sent along with the email you need to uncheck this checkbox.

Click the Send button to send the mail.

Mailing a defect is recorded in the history. There you can find out to whom and when a defect was sent.

When you send a defect by mail a copy (bcc) of the mail is automatically emailed to you.

When you email to a group the defect is emailed to the group's email address. Whether the members of the group are also emailed depends on the settings in the group.


Icon - Attention!

If the total size of the attachments to a defect exceeds 7 Mb then the attachments will not be sent. The user will be informed about this.
