You may need to modify test cases while these deeds are prepared in test run(s) for execution. As long as these test cases have not yet been executed in the test run(s), you can make changes from test design to test run for test execution.
When you modify a test case, and it is already is one or more test runs, when you save you get the following question:
- If 'No', changes to the test case are simply saved in test design
- If 'Yes', the changes to the test case are saved in test design, and also propagated to the unstarted test cases in the test execution. So in the example above, the changes in the test cases are carried forward in two test runs.
When you then open the test case in the test run, you can see in the "History" tab which fields have been changed from the test design:

Changing testers in test runs from Test Design
When you change the "Default Tester" field in a test case in Test Designand apply this change to the test runs that contain the test case, the tester for the test case in those test runs will be updated to the new default tester.
