Make defects mandatory

During the execution of test runs it is possible to directly create defects . When Not OK is clicked at a test step then the user is immediately given the option to create a defect at that test step.

It is possible to make the creation (or linking) of defects mandatory for test runs that receive the Not OK status. This can be set in the Test Run tab in the Customizing.

When this checkbox is on then the following check is performed if a user clicks Not OK after a test step during the execution of a test run:

  • Does the test step already have defects that are not yet closed (that have an open status)?
  • If yes, the user is not required to create a new defect and the status of the test step goes to Not OK.
  • If no, the user must create a new defect or link an existing (not closed) defect . Only then does the status of the test step go to Not OK.
