Release 03/02/2021

In addition to fixing a number of bugs, the following enhancements and new features become available in this release:

Formatting and hyperlinks in test steps
It has become possible when creating and editing test steps in test cases to format the text (bold, italic, numbered list, etc.). An editor has been added to the test steps for this purpose.

After saving, the formatted text is displayed as follows:

Exporting multiple test runs including test cases and test steps
It was already possible to export test runs including the test cases, test steps and test results to Excel. This could be done by opening a test run and clicking on the export button in the opened test run. However, this way you could not export multiple test runs at once. As of this release, this is possible. When you click on the export button in the list of test runs, you are asked whether the test cases in the test runs should also be included in the export.

If this question is answered YES then all test runs in the list, including the associated test cases, test steps and test results are exported. If this question is answered NO then the test runs without the associated test cases, test steps and test results will be exported to an Excel file.

Role Dummy converted to type Dummy
All users in Testersuite have a role(Administrator, Test Coordinator, Tester, etc.). A user's role determines what powers (authorizations) the user has in Testersuite . A special role is the role Dummy. Users with this role cannot log into Testersuite but can be used in Test cycles. For example, as a handler of a defect or as the owner of a test case. In the Premium subscription, users with the role Dummy do not count toward the number of licenses (they are "free" users).

In this release, the role Dummy has been replaced by the user type Dummy. As a result, Testersuite now has three user types:

  1. End user: the "ordinary" user;
  2. Integration user: for integrations, for example with JIRA or TOPdesk;
  3. Dummy user: cannot log in and is free within the Premium subscription

For this customization, we performed a database migration to convert all users with the Dummy role to Dummy type users.
