Manually creating your product tree and underlying test cases is not always the best way to capture data in Testersuite. Depending on the source, and the amount of data, it is wise to use the Import function. This makes it possible to import Products, Requirements, Testcases and Defects to Testersuite using an Excel or CSV file.
This functionality can be accessed by users with the role Manager or Masterlist Manager. The feature can be found under theSettings menu in the Program bar.
The import process has the following steps. During each step, the progress bar shows how far along you are in the import process:

1. Upload file
Here you choose what to import, where to, and which file to use for this purpose. You can also download sample files for each type of item here.
Here you will find more information about this step, and creating a correct import file.
2. Confirm file structure
Here you will see an overview of the file you have uploaded. In this step you can check again if all desired data is present and correct in your import file.
3. Fieldmap
In this step, you get the chance to map fields from your import file to the fields set up in customization. You will also get alerts and notifications here about differences between your import file and your Testersuite setup.
More information and explanation of this step can be found here.
4. Verify
After you have linked the fields from your import file to the desired Testersuite fields, in this step you get to see an overview of what will actually be created in Testersuite when you confirm the import. Is this approved? Then you can proceed to the next step.
5. Import
In this step, your file is actually imported. You will see a progress bar on the screen showing the progress of the upload. Keep the tab in your browser open, and wait for the upload to complete.
6. View results
In this last step you will find an overview of the items created in Testersuite based on your import file. Here you can consult this overview, and if you wish, click directly through to the new items.
