Turning Groups Active/Inactive
Once a component in Testersuite assigned to a group, that group can no longer be deleted. For customers with a large number of groups, this could lead to confusion in the group overview and in user and group lists.

With this release, you can now mark groups as inactive. Inactive groups are no longer visible in user and group lists, and cannot be selected as participants in a Test cycle. Inactive groups also no longer receive emails. You can toggle a group’s status to active or inactive within its details. Does your organization have a premium subscription? If so, you can also do this via a bulk edit from the group overview in your Testersuite .

You can now add the "Active" column to the list of groups

Synchronize only modified fields when making changes to test cases
When a test case is modified in Test Design, these changes can be applied to copies of the test case in test runs, provided they have not yet been executed. This also works the other way around: make a change to a test case within a test run, and the changes can be applied to the original test case within test design. Previously, in this case, the entire test case (i.e., all fields) was overwritten by the modified test case.

Partly because we recently made it easy to set up test cases in test runs for multiple products or requirements at once, we have updated this functionality in this release. Now, when you make a change to a test case from test design to test runs or vice versa, only the modified fields are updated accordingly. This ensures that the test case information you’ve specifically adjusted for a particular test run or within test design is preserved, and no fields are overwritten unless you explicitly choose to do so.

In the test case history, you can see exactly what has been changed and where the changes came from:

Change all testers in test runs at once for a specific test case
With the introduction of the functionality mentioned above, it is now very easy to modify the testers for unstarted test cases in test runs directly from the test design:

  • In the test design, change the "Default Tester" field in a test case and save the test case
  • Choose to apply the changes to test cases in test runs that have not yet been started
  • The testers for this test case within the test runs will be updated to the new standard tester for the test case

Bug fix: Inactive group users no longer receive emails
For a while, there was a bug that caused a group member to receive emails when the group was emailed, even though the user had been set to inactive. This has been fixed. As a result, inactive group members will no longer receive emails from Testersuite, even when the group itself is emailed.
